Terengganu Road Trip (28-30 Aug 2009)

Kuala Terengganu

Kuala Terengganu is the capital city of Terengganu. Among the attractions are Pasar Payang, Tengku Tengah Zaharah Mosque, China Town, Terengganu State Museum Complex, Istana Maziah etc.

China Town (Kampung Cina) is the town’s main Chinese village. The preserved entrance to Kampung Cina is a richly decorated archway with protective dragons.

Well, at least u can still find Bak Kut Teh here in Terengganu Town.

Tengku Tengah Zaharah Mosque, also dubbed as the ‘Floating Mosque’ since it’s build on a floating platform. Not allow to go in since i was wearing short. For me, the rest of the places in K. Terengganu are not worth a visit. Example Pasar Payang=Pasar Larkin in JB :(

Merang

Located about 35km north from Kuala Terrengganu. This small town located on a long sandy beach overlooking the waters of South China Sea. We spend two nights at Merang Suria Resort and so most of the photos taken are just outside the resort. Another point is this resort has a private lagoon which opens to the sea that make this already beautiful landscape of lush tropical greenery of natural Gelam (Melaleuca leucadendron) forest.

Penarik Village

You are warmly welcome by the sight of lovely coconut trees swaying in the cool sea breeze when you arrive Penarik Village, in which the traditional wooden homes of fisherfolk, scattered along the palm fringed shores.
